Grotta

As per usual, we never would have found this next site had it not be for our deliberate attempt to get lost. The great thing about having a rental car in a foreign country is that it expands your diameter for adventure...or getting lost. We took advantage of this tool to the fullest extent we knew how. When we didn't know what we should do or where we should go, we just went. Fortunately for us we get pretty lucky winging it...

A little back story on this particular place: one night we decided to just drive out towards a bright light to see what it was. Being pitch black and not entirely sure if we were allowed to be where we had ended up, we turned back. The next day, after Googling some cool sights to see, we found out that we happened to go to one of the sights on the list: Lighthouse Grotta. Well after realizing we had already been to a perfectly legal place to go, we thought it'd be worth checking out in the daytime. Unfortunately for us, at the time of our visit to the lighthouse Grotta, the tide had overtaken the pathway out to the location, but we still took time to admire from afar.

At the time of this picture I was reminded of home...cold and extremely windy. The stark difference was there are no lighthouses on the Great Plains. As for getting up close and personal with the lighthouse, well I guess we'll just have to save it for next time.
